Pandora's Box – Animation
Fashion for Change is one of the largest clubs under the Federation of Students on the University of Waterloo campus. Our mission is to provide our members and the students with the opportunity to express their artistic talents. We achieve this by hosting hosts our Annual Charity Fashion Show where we introduce a modern twist to Fashion Runways by incorporating dance into the fashion scenes.
This animation was created for Fashion for Change's 2018 Charity show – the Pandora's box. The animation was played at the beginning of the show where it narrates the Greek mythology story.
Stylization. One of the easiest way to get the ideas flowing is to do the research and then start sketching. At the initial stage, our ideas tailored towards the style of typical Greek Mythology. There were many ideas going around, but the images below were the initial sketches I made for the creative team. After showing the marketing director and the creative team my storyboards, people actually like the sketchy style I did for the frames.
Storyboarding. I always love story boarding even though it means a lot of drawing and revisions. After frequent discussions with the creative team, we decided to eliminate the last three frames as the video team will narrate the rest of the story.
Frames. All the frames were drawn on Apple iPad Pro.
